Introductory Courses (Foundations)

Graduate students begin their studies at CIU by taking our Foundations courses, which are introductory level courses designed to teach students important knowledge and skills. Upon successful completion of the Foundations courses, students who meet all admissions requirements are eligible to enroll in the University and become degree-seeking students.

Graduate Admissions FAQ

How much does a Graduate degree cost?

While we have removed most of the costs associated with attending university, we do still have some fees to help us keep CIU running, such as administrative and processing work.

The costs associated with a Graduate degree are as follows:

  • $60 for the application fee
  • $200 per course assessment fee

The total cost of an MBA is $2,460

The total cost of an M.Ed can range between $2,660 and $3,460 depending on the number of specializations you pursue.

Do I need an Undergraduate degree to enroll in a Graduate degree program?

Yes, in order to qualify as a Master’s degree-seeking student, applicants are required to possess a Bachelor’s degree.  An Associate degree is not sufficient.

Do I need to take the GRE or GMAT for a Master’s degree?

CIU does not require students to submit GRE/GMAT score(s) in order to gain admission to a Master’s degree program.  

Is a Master’s degree worth it?

Masters’ Degrees are beneficial for a number of reasons, including higher earning potential.  According to a U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics study in 2018, those with a master’s degree earned nearly $12,000 more per year than those with a bachelor’s degree only.
